Planting Design

Plants are at the heart of creating a beautiful outdoor space. With carefully considered planting, a space can be completely transformed β€” adding colour, texture, and seasonal interest throughout the year. This service is perfect for those who are happy with their garden’s existing layout or hard landscaping, but want to refresh and elevate its planting. Whether it’s a full replanting of the entire garden, a single border or containers, a bespoke planting scheme can breathe new life into your outdoor space.

Initial Telephone or Email Inquiry

A short conversation to discuss your project and arrange a free initial consultation.

Free Initial Consultation

An in-person meeting to talk through your project brief and answer any questions about the design process. After this meeting, you will receive an email confirming the brief along with a clear breakdown of design costs and project stages.

Site Survey

The garden designer will visit your site to take measurements, carry out soil and aspect analysis, note any plants to be retained, and photograph the space. This information, combined with your brief, will shape the planting design.

Planting Plan and Moodboard

A detailed planting plan will be created, showing the plants and their position within the scheme. This is supported by a moodboard with images to help you visualise the design. One complimentary revision is included.

Planting Schedule and Plant Sourcing

Once the scheme is approved, a planting schedule will be prepared and sent to the plant nursery to source the selected plants.

Planting

The designer will be on-site to oversee delivery, set out the planting, and ensure everything is completed to the highest standard. Depending on the scale of the project, a team of landscapers may be involved to carry out the planting and undertake any necessary clearance work beforehand.

Aftercare

You will receive a comprehensive aftercare plan to support the long-term health and growth of your garden. Follow-up visits can also be arranged to provide advice and monitor the garden’s progress over time.
